Quais são os erros de inglês mais comuns?

Ao longo dos anos notamos um certo padrão nos erros de inglês cometidos por brasileiros ao falar inglês, sejam eles gramaticais, em termos de vocabulário ou estrutura.

Então decidimos fazer este primeiro post de uma série sobre os erros de inglês mais comuns para ajudar você aprendiz de inglês que sofre com este problema.

Erros de inglês mais comuns com preposições

Incorreto: She Learned Portuguese in the age of 30.

Correto:  She Learned Portuguese at the age of 30.

Aqui não existe uma regra, é realmente uma questão de memorizar o collocation.

Incorreto: You can only get to the restaurant by foot, as cars are not allowed in that street.

Correto: You can only get to the restaurant on foot, as cars are not allowed in that street.

Muitos confundem pois nós dizemos by car, by train, by plane mas on foot.

Incorreto: Jorge is bad in English.

Correto: Jorge is bad at English.

Em inglês nos dizemos que alguém é good at or bad at something.

Incorreto: In the end of next year the Brazilian GDP will have grown 2%.

Correto: By the end of next year the Brazilian GDP will have grown 2%.

By the end significa no fim de um período, muito utilizado com o future perfect, já in the end significa finalmente.

Incorreto:  My uncle got married at the 80s.

Correto: My uncle got married in the 80s.

Usamos in com:

• In+ Year = In 2000
• In +Decade = In the 60s
• In + Seasons = In the summer
• In+ Months = In September
• In +Continents = In Africa
• In + Countries = In Brazil
• In+ States = In São Paulo
• In + Cities = In Guarulhos
• In + Neighborhood = In Itaim Bibi
• In + morning = In the morning
• In + afternoon = In the afternoon

Incorreto: Sofia gets in the bus in the afternoon.

Correto: Sofia gets on the bus in the afternoon.

Usamos get on e get off para topos os tipos de transporte como: subway, bus, airplane, train, boat, sendo a única exceção car para qual usamos get in e get out.
